One of the main advantages of studying at Bow Street is that our tutors are all actively working at the highest levels of the Film & TV Industry today. These experts bring vast experience and tell it like it really is sharing knowledge of current practices and methods used on Film & TV sets today. The knock on effect of this is that many guest Filmmakers and Casting Directors end up using Bow Street students in their productions. Many other guests have included Danny DeVito, Fiona Shaw, Richard Deyfuss, Margery Simkin, Richard E. Grant, Domhnall Gleeson and Aku Louhimies. Bow Street also has the added advantage of having one of Ireland’s top Casting Directors in the building. Louise Kiely Casting has cast some of the biggest FILM and TV shows in Ireland recently including Normal People, The Green Knight, Dating Amber, Dublin Murders, Blood, Can’t Cope Won’t Cope, Red Rock and many more. Overseeing the teaching philosophy and method is Voice Coach, Alexander Technique Teacher and Acting Coach Gerry Grennell, one of the most in demand acting coaches in the world.
Bow Street Young Screen Actors Academy is a place for all teenagers interested in developing their talents and skills in a range of film related areas. Offering both weekend workshops and summer camps in acting our Young Screen Actors Academy students have the opportunity to work with experienced industry professionals in the home of screen acting in Ireland. Overseeing the Academy is award winning filmmaker Shimmy Marcus along with Ireland’s leading Casting Director Maureen Hughes (Love / Hate, Once, Charlie). The aim of the Academy is to develop the talents and skills of our students across all disciplines in a relaxed, fun environment.
The goal of our training is to service the industry. Increasingly we see more and more graduates obtaining work across all formats of Film, TV, Radio, Theatre, Commercials, and Voice Over work. Recently Jim Sheridan cast 20 Bow Street actors in The Secret Scripture and Brendan Grant’s Get Up And Go features 11 Bow Street Actors.
