This course is a 10 week part-time programme taking place every Monday night specially designed for those who have dreamed about performing standup but never knew where to start. Over the 10 classes the focus will be on the key core areas:

* PERSONA

* WRITING

* PERFORMANCE 

The exploration of these topics, coupled with personal investigation and unique performance tools will culminate with the learners performing their first 5 minutes in front of a live audience.

Some recent graduates of this course are now working and gigging regularly as Stand-Up’s.

At Bow Street we focus on a holistic learning approach and the standup comedy course will be an exploration into the individual needs of the learners, with an explorative centred approach to finding the origins of your comedic voice.

Comedy is a serious businees but the plan is to have fun, push the boat out and test yourself in a safe and friendly environment. What are you waiting for?

Our main tutor Stephen Mullan has over 10 years experience in the entertainment industry, has performed all over Ireland, the UK and in New York, has opened tour shows for Joanne McNally, Des Bishop and Jason Byrne as well as having performed at festivals alongside Tommy Tiernan, David O’Doherty and Michael Che (SNL).
