The Art of Self-Taping

Whether you like it or not Self-Taping is here to stay and the more clued in you are on the do’s and don’ts of this practice the beter placed you will be to create professional, highly polished tapes that might end up making all the difference to your chances of getting cast or called in to audition.

During this 1 day workshop you will discover and understand all there is to know about self-taping techniques. The aim of this workshop is to develop the actor’s skills in mastering this technique and understand how a well produced tape can appear to elevate your performance and chances of getting hired. It will benefit those hoping to audition for productions both here and outside of Ireland.

This workshop is aimed at both emerging and more experienced actors. The
good news is that these techniques can be very simply followed by even
the greatest technophobe!

After the workshop has been completed, each participant will receive instructions to film a mock self-tape. Once submitted, the student will receive feedback on their tape with highlighted notes on areas that could be improved. The students will also receive a manual handout on all topics covered in the workshop which can be used for reference when recording tapes in the future.
