About The Course.

Ireland’s most popular Screen Acting Part Time course is open to all ages over 18 and all levels of experience. Year on year it’s popularity increases due to the success of our graduates securing work on major Film and TV productions. This is our ultimate aim, to give you the tools to find and secure work within the industry.

The Course is designed for those actors either starting out in the Film & TV Industry who are looking to get a better understanding of both the theoretical and practical elements of screen acting and for those with some experience but are looking to take their craft to the next level.  Participants also include actors with lots of stage experience looking to understand the nuances of screen acting and experienced actors looking to up-skill.

Run over 2 consecutive nights a week for 6 months, this intensive part-time course will delve into a variety of areas to teach actors the essential tools of screen acting and the chance to explore their full potential. The 2 nights are decided following a successful interview and consultation with the applicant.

The philosophy, technique, and method for the course is overseen by Acting Coach, Voice Coach and Alexander Technique teacher Gerry Grennell whose clients have included  Bruce Willis, Heath Ledger, Tom Cruise, Natalie Portman, Meryl Streep, Annie Hathaway, Oscar Isaac, Orlando Bloom, Marlon Brando, Sean Penn, Heather Graham and many more.

Using similar methods that form the basis of the main Programme for Screen Acting, participants will learn the basics of working with the camera and how to own their environment. Sessions with experienced professionals,  access to shooting and screening facilities, coupled with practical hands-on training all contribute to pushing the actor to maximise their potential.

Tutors on the course include regular tutors from the Full Time Programme plus experienced guests from the Film & TV industry.

The course culminates with a professionally filmed Showcase scene that also gets distributed to every Agent and Casting Director in the country which increases your chances of landing an Agent or being called for an Audition.

This course is a fully immersive and holistic experience and participants may also avail of the Bow Street facilities during their time on the course which includes Rehearsal Studios, Media Room, Canteen and Common Room. 

Bow Street will become your home for the 6 months where you can shoot multiple self tapes, access our scenes library, and workshop with fellow students across all our courses where the conversation always leads to screen acting, new techniques, and the best place to get a coffee in the neighbourhood!   Participants are also entitled to attend Special Screenings and Private Q&A’s with industry guests, some of whom can be seen here.

Employment of our graduates is our ultimate aim, and the hands-on practical nature of all our training prepares students for the real world of Film and TV.

On completion of the Course, graduates are also admitted free of charge to a private Alumni Facebook group where we often post casting opportunities and occasional invitations to industry events,

APPLICATIONS: Application is by interview and not audition. Applicants should email the following 3 separate documents:

  • A cover letter stating why you want to do the course
  • Your most recent CV (don’t worry if you don’t have any major acting experience yet.)
  • Recent Headshot. If you don’t have a professional headshot a self taken headshot will suffice.

Email your Application to: training@bowstreet.ie with PART TIME in the subject line. You will be provided with details on how to pay your application fee of €30 by bank transfer.

DATES & TIMES: Classes run from 6.00pm – 9.30pm two consecutive nights a week subject to places and the availability of the applicant.

 APPLICATION DEADLINE:  OCTOBER 24th 2024

COURSE DATES:  JANUARY 6TH 2025 – JUNE  29th 2025

COURSE FEES: €3,250. This fee is payable in installments. €850 Deposit to secure your place if selected, and the balance paid off in installments over the duration of the course.
