FILMMAKING (12 – 17 years)

Bow Street has been a home and a hub for filmmakers for many years. Directors, cinematographers, actors, writers, editors, casting directors and many other industry professionals from all over the world have worked, trained, taught and collaborated here in a fun, creative and supportive atmosphere.
We are now delighted to offer the same opportunity to filmmakers aged 12 to 17 to train with some of the industry professionals based here at Bow Street in the area of directing and filmmaking.

During each 10 week term participants will explore the tools necessary for a Director to create exciting and engaging movies, collaborate with actors and have the chance to see their work on a cinema screen. Some of the techniques taught include:
– Understanding the Script
– Scriptwriting
– Working with Actors
– Using The Camera
– Framing
– Lighting
– Locations
– Directing/Shooting Scenes
– Editing

This is a practical, hands-on course at the end of which participants will have clips of performances to take away and share with their family and friends.
Each Saturday workshop is 2 hours long running between 11am-1pm. The duration of each term is 10 weeks. Classes are limited to a maximum of 10 students per workshop leader to ensure each participant gets the most out of each session and term as a whole.
