This Q&A with Louise Kiely is focused on the varied roles of a Casting Director and the evolution of online casting in today’s Covid-19 climate. This webinar will also include a case study on the casting of Normal People with comparison and contrast with the casting of What Richard Did. The webinar will demystify the casting process from Films to TV to Commercials.
Louise Kiely trained and worked as actor for a period before setting up Louise Kiely Casting in 2005. Since then she has built up her reputation as one of Ireland’s leading casting directors. Recent credits include Normal People, The Green Knight, Dating Amber, Dublin Murders, Herself, Arracht and Dead Still.

This workshop is designed to give Actors and Directors working in the Film & TV best practice guidelines and awareness of the importance of on set intimacy guidelines and how they improve the quality of the work, not hinder it. Ita O’Brien is an Intimacy Coordinator and Movement Director for film, television, and theatre. She has been developing best practice when working with intimacy, scenes with sexual content, and nudity in film, TV, and theatre – the ‘Intimacy on Set’ guidelines. Ita pioneered the role of Intimacy Coordinator and she is well known for her work in this regard on the shows Normal People, I May Destroy You, Gangs of London, Gentleman Jack, Sex Education and many more..

Eilish Kent is the Associate Lecturer in Writing TV Drama at The National Film School at IADT and has over 25 years professional experience at a senior level in television and film in Ireland in drama and factual content. She consults to the Arts Council on cultural and experimental film. In addition, Eilish works freelance as a producer, story consultant and trainer.
